So You Have Writer's Block
The cursor keeps blinking on the screen of your laptop. The pen (or pencil if you dig those old school vibes) lays idly on the side of the notebook; sometimes you pick it up, thinking the feel of it will inspire some reflex that sparks up an idea before you lay it back down in defeat. You keep tapping the screen of your phone as you open up a tiny Notes app hoping at least a word will strike you.

30 Journal Entries to Self Discovery - Day 28
Hey y'all! Welcome to day twenty-eight. *Insert feelings about how close we're getting to the end here.* I hope everyone's journal is packed with writing and notes from this journey and I hope it's getting hard to add more. Anyway, here's the quote of the day: "An opening line should invite the reader to begin the story. It should say: Listen. Come in here. You want to know about this." - Stephen King

The Houses of the Zodiac: House #5
Do you know what your birth chart says? Or, do you even know what a birth chart is? Your birth chart is based off of the time, location, and date of your birth. At the time when you were born, every planet and star and thing up there in the universe was in a specific place. Doesn't seem like it matters, but it absolutely does. Your birth chart displays where all those planets and stuff were, and this contributes to the magic that is your personality.

Chaotic Notes to Myself #1
I always say the things are meant to be and everything that happens, happens for a reason—both good and bad things are what we need in our lives. I believe that the Universe balances them accordingly. All you have to do is stay grateful and do your thing—the rest will fall into place.

The Light
What does it mean to be enlightened? My perspective on the twisted journey starts right here. I always thought to be enlightened meant I had to be this perfect person, this entity that, with all of life's challenges, would always choose the "right" way. The positive way. The way that everyone expects. But for me, it was the total opposite.

Waves
I always find myself right back here. The home I grew up in is about a three minute drive from the nearest beach with a wide view of Lake Michigan. I drove there all the time for sunset or to dance in the sand or to just stand and stare for a while, when that was all I was capable of focusing on. I would hop in my car and blare Jesus jams all the way down the winding road, down the bumpy dirt path crowded with trees and forest, where herds of deer bounded beside my rusty car making its slow way to the water. I don’t live at home anymore, but whenever I find myself back for a visit, I’m back in the car making my way to the waves.

30 Journal Entries for Self Discovery - Day 27
Hey everyone! Happy last three days of this lovely journey! I'm honestly excited and so sad. However, I hope you're all having fun and excited for today! Here's the quote of the day: "You're a writer. Claim the title. Writers write, so make time for it every day. Set realistic goals. Embrace the ecstasy of writing. Read, read, read, read, read, read, read. Follow your heart, not the market. Don't just start stories, finish them. Dream big. Learn the rules. Follow the rules. Break the rules. Constructive criticism: solicit, accept, manage. Put your ego in your back pocket and sit on it. Writing is a journey, not a destination, enjoy the scenery. Give back to the writing community. Write scared. Remember that you are the master of inspiration, not its slave. Set your stories free, send them into the world. Don't slack on the hard stuff: outline, research, rewrite. Build a lifestyle that nurtures and supports your writing. Love what you do, write with joy." - A Wordplayer's Manifesto

The Importance of Hitting Rock Bottom
The magnificent year of 2018 is one of the first years of my nineteen-year-old life to ever smack me across the face unexpectedly. One would think that hitting rock bottom would never happen if you were mentally stable with a steady income and great social life. However, no one knows exactly what goes on in people's heads almost all of the time. Thoughts popping up back and forth along with anxieties that are almost 90 percent out of your control. It can be a time where things in life get messy without anyone ever knowing what is actually going on inside your mind.

Breaking Out of the Cycle of Pain
I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.—Samwise Gamgee

Moments
I have spent the last two years wishing that things were different, that I was a different person. The moments that have defined me have been the moments when everything overwhelms me, the moments where my reality comes crashing down and threatens to crush me, the moments when I feel I can’t take it for another second.

5 Reasons to Live Another Day
1. You have dreams. I'm not talking about the dreams you have at night. I'm talking about the dreams you have for your future. Live another day to try and achieve those dreams. If you have dreams then you clearly want to achieve goals. If you have goals then you can break it down into stages—you have a plan. If you have a plan then you can work on making your dreams a reality. Do NOT give up just yet.
