Control Over Yourself
Trial and error, that's what our imperfect world has to offer. Trial and error, the building of self ... I'm currently reading Human, All Too Human by Nietzsche (that plus other books I keep rotating through the course of my studies this semester). I must say, that there is nothing more rejuvenating than reading a book, educating yourself and having a deep knowledge of things that are easily ingestible, whilst building yourself is as important as building a house. Quite recently I changed my perception on life, my values changed and the resentment I had diminished. Having core values ingrained and once faced with harsh reality, you're bound to rebuild yourself. Sometimes that might not be the case, sometimes our emotions get the best of us. Don't let your emotions get the best of you, exercise your mind and meditate, learn to control the personal attacks. This has been personally hard for me, but it gets better with practice. Understand you can do and be whatever ... You could be the animal you are scared to be. Free yourself into the realms of your mind and you will move with so much grace. These social constructs young people inflict on you. Fuck that, you are so much better than the disillusioned. Competence is the road to the competition that is the world. The world is not going to babysit you, it’s going to throw rocks at you, spit on you, and when shit gets easier ... The more hurdles you are going to have to face. The brain can adapt with the more experiences and dangers you put yourself into.

Fear's Favorite Food. Top Story - February 2019.
Facing fear is something we have all had to deal with. The fear to do ... The fear not to do ... The fear of success ... The fear of failure ... We all face different fears in our life. Yet there are ways in which we either increase or diminish our fears. We don't have to let them control us but this can very much be the case. Often we find that, if we are not careful, we may end up strengthening the very things are afraid of.

3 Tips to Being Happier
There we were, sitting at the kitchen table. My toddler and I in a stalemate over an important decision, whether or not to eat dinner. On this day, like many others, it was apparent that things were not going well for my toddler, and he was overwhelmed by his situation. With no way out, he chose to sit and pout. He was clearly not happy, and there was nothing that was going to change his mind. Then we tried something that may have changed dinner forever…

Win or Learn, Never Lose
Well, to be honest, I'm not much of a writer. I live most of my life of spontaneity and improvisation. Anyways, I wanted to share a silly, yet simple idea that I like to always keep in mind. It's as simple as understanding that there is no such thing as losing in life. Sounds ridiculous I know, let me explain.

Your Heart Knows the Path to Your Dreams...
The very last lesson of enlightenment, before you clear your mind, body, and spirit for complete and absolute healing, is self love. When you get to this aspect of healing, expect tears. Lots and lots of fucking tears. This is where you push forward despite all your fears and all the people who are against you and all of the people who have ever challenged you. It's when you tear yourself right down the middle. The old version of you and the past that is contained within you dies, and the emotional death is way worse than anything you ever imagined. Instead of leaning into and giving into death, you begin searching and scanning your entire life for even one single reason to stay living. Enlightenment is tough, dude. We've been through a lot. All of us have. Look at the veil of conditioning that this planet has carelessly thrown over our eyes. It's so thin, yet it has skewed our vision so much that we would actually rather DIE than face our emotional healing.

Welcome to My World
Hello Readers, I wanted my first story to explain a little about myself as well as to give a bit of a base to my future stories. If anyone has any personal questions, would like to ask for advice, or have any topics you would like me to talk about please feel free to email me and I will get back with you as soon as I can. The photos I provide can be either quotes I found or personal pictures I took myself. As of right now I will stay away from anything that involves myself or my family photo wise. Once I have reached a place where I feel comfortable to show my face maybe one day my dog (my fur child), then I will write a piece about that and include pictures. Please understand that and be patient.

The Acceptance We Seek Is in the Self-Love We Lack
Imagine you logged in to your social media apps and you could not see how many likes, views, comments, shares, etc., the people you follow have, would you still feel the same way towards them? I say this because I feel that as young people many of us (including me) have lost our essence. We constantly seek validation from the apps on our phone menus, from people we truly believe are better and are doing better than us.

The 10 Year Challenge
Dear Self, I know it may seem never ending but I promise you it'll be okay. I promise you this bullying won't destroy you. Cristina, in 10 years, you'll be a college student studying psychology. This pain you're feeling, the agony that just seems never ending is not gonna be the rest of your life. You flourished into a beautiful young girl with hopes and dreams to help others. You struggle emotionally and socially but you make it. I know you believe you wouldn't live past 18-years-old but here we are, two years later. I'm typing this up in my dorm room on a laptop you bought yourself. You earned this money on your own. You will find you save haven at a beautiful camp that you will stay for a while. You gain amazing experiences and you will gain love from your friends. Yes, you will have friends. You will have a small knit of friends who you will continue to grow with in life. You'll go to prom in a gorgeous red dress and sparkly heels and dance the night away. You will achieve great things and I promise these obstacles won't be for nothing.

What Does a Work in Progress Really Mean?
What is the world as we know it? Is it a bunch of hipsters sitting at a Starbucks scrolling through their Twitter feed searching for the latest Kardashian gossip? Is it a bunch of Generation Z adolescence being consumed in their electronics, social media, the newest video game release or newest Jordan shoe, and being exposed to so much in an ever-changing, judgmental world? Is it the President trying to build a wall to keep out an entire country? Is it aliens? God? These are all questions that deserve good answers, and the answer K believe is YOU. It's hard to know who you want to be in a world that is heavily judged and stigmatized. The world is what you make it, and being dealt the cards that you have been, to either deal with it and live with it or have anger for something you cannot control. YOU are the world. YOU are the future. YOU are the Earth. Literally and figuratively. The Earth is forever changing, and so are we as a species, humans, and inhabitants of this Earth. Much like the Earth, we are all connected; we all have the same want: To live. To be fully alive and so aware of yourself and your surroundings. Most parts of the Earth have four seasons: Winter, spring, summer and fall. Like the seasons and the Earth, you are always changing. That's just how it is. That's how it's always been. So why change now? That's how its always been, they'll tell you, but DON'T. Don't let them tell you that. Author, feminist, and social justice activist L.R. Knost once said:

The Acres Around You
There are many things in history a large percentage of us are not aware of. Things that have gone unnoticed or publicly silenced. People who have prospered in the worse conditions. Individuals who have blossomed against all odds. These inspirational stories have the potential to empower us. Yet what good is a story that is never told? What good is the ear that may never hear? If a tree falls down in a forest with no one around, does it make a sound? If a book is never read by the masses, does it make an impact?
