Light in a Dark Time
Everyday we are surrounded by the grim realities of the world. In 2020 in particular we are confronting a global pandemic that has claimed, at the time of this writing, over 1 million lives with no end in sight. Throughout the world people are continually profiled, disrespected, oppressed, injured or killed simply for the color of their skin or their chosen religion. The possibility of Civil Discourse is an absurdity. Common courtesy is not only uncommon, but a foreign concept all together among our political leaders.

My Attempt at Being Consistent
I have always wanted to wake up at 6am, do some morning yoga, maybe go jogging, or even for a light walk, shower, eat breakfast, then start my day. Who knows, maybe I can even read a chapter of my book before the actual day begins. Get up with the sunrise, settle down when the sun sets and relax. Eat breakfast before noon, so I can eat lunch at noon, and dinner in the evening time. Go to bed around 10, get my full nights sleep in before I have to wake up the next morning. That sounds nice, a whole three meals per day with snacks?! A perfect amount of hours at night? Sounds pretty normal to me. Sadly, this is not my life.

Some Young People's Priorities Have Changed And They No Longer Want To Be Millionaires
Until a few years ago, the dream of being a millionaire was something everyone fantasized about. Since childhood the game of Monopoly gave great expectations to reach that goal, but now and more after this turbulent year, the priorities seem to be changing and many young people are taking care to say it loud and clear.

Lessons of life
10 important life lessons we are often taught too lateLadders Contributor Life is a continuous learning experience. Throughout our lives we keep rising and falling, picking up important lessons along the way. Some of these lessons come from experience, yet there are others that we learn watching others or reading in books for example. No matter how much we learn from the books there is a significant difference between practical and theoretical experience. Furthermore, there are many life lessons that we simply cannot learn until we face certain situations in our life. Most people would say that there are some lessons that come too late, catching us off-guard and unprepared.

The Importance Of Making Lists
My mother is a huge list maker. Over the years, I have found countless used Post-It notes stuck on all manner of surfaces containing lists of grocery items, gift ideas, recipe ingredients, “things to do”, “things to research”, “people to call”, “stuff to bring”, “things to pack”, daily goals, weekly goals, yearly goals, lifetime goals, work goals, financial goals, retirement goals, and so on and so forth ad infinitum. Whenever I talk to my mom, which includes dinner at her house every other week, we typically talk about the things in that moment which are causing us the most stress. I’ll talk about how overworked I am, and how I have so much to do that I don’t even know where to start. My mother will inquire about the specifics, and then calmly tell me to start by making a list of every single task that needs to be done in descending order of importance. It’s funny how writing something down, at times, can instantly remove the feelings of anxiety associated with it. Needless to say, over the years I’ve become somewhat of a list maker myself.

My Brain Exploded
My brain exploded. It was August 28, 2019 and my brain exploded. I can’t think of a better way to describe it. I was suddenly engulfed in this tidal wave of ideas, goals and plans for the future. Finally, at thirty-seven years old I knew what my life’s ambition would be, what my career goals were and what my purpose was – to change the world.

Lemons or Lemonade? You Choose!
A couple of years ago, I was looking to add some plants in my house. We didn’t really have many plants in the house and it was something I missed, previously having many plants in our old house. Sadly, we had to find them new homes when we moved across the country and then simply never got around to getting new plants for our new home.

Today Is The Day
Today is the day...it might as well be. We only get so many chances and opportunities to chase our dreams and passions so why not make today that day? If you wait long enough you might just let the opportunity itself pass you by forever. You see, we're human so we don't like to ever look at things that way. We think that we are going to live forever and that things are never going to end, doors will never close, and those big opportunities will always be there. News flash, we don't live forever, things do end, doors close and big opportunities don't come around every day. If this is breaking news to you I'm sorry but you should probably crawl out from under the rock you live under and experience the world for a day. You'll learn a lot.
