happiness
Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.
Understand Me
EVERYDAY IS A BATTLE TO STAY ALIVE AND MAKE SOME SORT OF CHANGE IN SOME SORT OF WAY. THERE WILL BE TIMES THAT IT JUST SEEMS LIKE THE WORLD IS AGAINST YOU, OR NOTHING YOU DO EVER SEEMS TO BE RIGHT. BUT YOU HAVE TO REMIND YOURSELF THAT IT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE. PEOPLE HAVE WAYS OF DEALING WITH THE THINGS THAT HURT THE MOST. IN MY OPINION THE ONE THING THAT HURTS THE MOST IS WHEN ONE SHOWS LOVE AND CONCERN AND YET THEY GET TREATED AS IF IT’S NEVER GOOD ENOUGH OR THE EFFORT ONE PUTS INTO DOING SOMETHING JUST GETS CUT DOWN LIKE A TREE. I’VE SEEN ENOUGH, HEARD ENOUGH, AND FELT ENOUGH PAIN TO KNOW THAT THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF HEARTACHE! YES THERE ARE TIMES THAT I JUST WANT TO FALL TO MY KNEES AND JUST CRY BECAUSE IT’S THE ONLY THING THAT SEEMS TO HELP AT THE TIME. BUT THROUGH IT ALL, I STILL WALK WITH MY HEAD HELD HIGH, JOY IN MY HEART AND MY DIGNITY. I HAVE TO BIG OF A HEART TO LET IT BE WALKED ON AND BROKEN. I’M SO TIRED OF PATCHING UP WOUNDS, WHEN THEY ARE JUST GONNA BE SCARED AGAIN. IF IT’S ONE THING I LEARNED ITS THAT I’M A HARD FIGHTING SOLDIER, AND THIS WORLD IS A BATTLEFILD. LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE ANYTHING BUT HAPPY, AND THAT’S JUST HOW I AM GOING TO LIVE MY LIFE. I’M TIRED…I AM SO TIRED! I AM SO GLAD THAT NO ONE PERSON HAS TO EVER GO TROUGH SOMEONE ELSE’S SAME EXACT SHOES, UNLESS THEY CHOOSE TO. I NEVER WANT SOMEONE TO EVER ENDURE THE THINGS THAT I HAVE, BECAUSE IT’S NOT FAIR, NOT FOR ANY HUMAN. I’VE WATCHED LOVED ONES PASS ON LEAVING ME BEHIND, AND I’M LEFT TO DEAL WITH THE PAIN. I THANK GOD EVERYDAY FOR LIFE, BECAUSE I DON’T SEE HOW I AM STILL STANDING. I NEVER QUESTION GOD’S WILL, BECAUSE HIS WILL BE DONE. HE HAS A PLAN FOR ME SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD, AND AT THE END OF EVERY DARK ROAD THERE IS BOUND TO BE LIGHT.

Expressing Yourself
Until I started focusing on my inner qualities, my beauty never jumped out. My “canvas” has always been expressed in my hairstyle. I don’t have any tattoos, but always wanted one. I guess I live vicariously through my daughter, as she has more than ten tattoos. I have always been known as “the girl with big hair”.

The sky's the limit
The sky's the limit Do you ever just lift your eyes to the sky to snag a glimpse of the never ending beauty in the fluffiest clouds or even the anger of storm clouds lingering overhead? It is mesmerizing on so many levels. Escaping the bustle of the city with its anonymity and coldness has been our plan for such a very long while, most likely before we even realized that it was our destiny. As life’s journey leads us on the twists and turns of each phase, we gather knowledge, dreams, desires that in the farthest reaches of my mind were cultivating the need for peace, love and harmony. Not to appear too cliche for me and mine, we both traveled many miles and survived personal struggles so when destiny brought our broken wandering souls together it was meant to be. Fueled by the elements of coastal life and our love of nature lead us to this place we now call home.

A Word About Our "Thirties."
Autumn winds have started to rattle loose from the already dead and fading leaves of the high maple trees. The pathways of hiking trails and sidewalks are littered with the golden brown glow of the fallen pine needles that outnumber the cars in the state. New England air is a strange thing for people outside of the region. In the early morning it's stiff and brittle and just cool enough to wake you up without having had any coffee. By mid-day the return of a familiar and comfortable summer heat has spread and people around you are taking off their sweaters and thin jackets as they embrace the stark contrast in weather. Then evening falls at earlier and earlier hours as the days pass. Walking in the moonlight, you can see the wet patches of remaining dew from the morning that didn't evaporate start to harden and grow. Among all of these things, you realize another summer has gone by which means soon, another year will pass.

Simple Joys
A video called, "how to have a better day!" Isn't that the content we all need on YouTube? Michelle Reed is a lovely YouTuber who makes relatable and uplifting videos about her life. For me, her channel has been a source of comfort lately. She posts videos about twice a week, and I always watch them basically right away when I see the notifications pop up. Her channel is pretty much the only one I actually pay attention to the notifications for.

It's about time!
I love hearing the story of the elephant and the dog's pregnancy. You can see a dog give birth to six (6) puppies and three (3) months later the same dog can give birth to a dozen (12) puppies. On the other side, you have an elephant that gives birth to a baby elephant every 2 years. But on the other hand, a baby elephant has much more impact than a puppy. Indeed, when an elephant touches the earth, the earth trembles, and when it makes a sound from its trunk all the animals hear it.

Happiness Has Left the Building
Three months are left in 2020. One thing I believe everyone can agree with is the fact that this year, 2020, has stolen a lot from everyone. With the novel coronavirus pandemic sweeping through the world, people have lost jobs, livelihoods, family, friends, family of friends, etc. Along with the extreme loss caused by the pandemic, there have also been the many losses and struggles that take place regularly; the losses and struggles that seem to be overshadowed by the pandemic, but they are still just as real and just as painful as they have ever been.

I Love My Life
It is interesting to me that I can whole heartedly say I love my life. It took 28 years to get to a place where I no longer wish for something different or something more. When I was growing up, the narrative surrounding me was, "you can't do that, you will never get there, or why do you even bother." Believing those narratives brought me to a dark place. A place where loving anything or myself didn't seem possible.

Perspective
We all know life is full of ups and downs. Some say life’s a rollercoaster, some see life as hell on earth, and some just go with the flow. Perspective is everything. We live in a world where everyone is busy, all the time. Unfortunately, the busier the world gets, the less we stop to think about each other. My name’s Kenny, and I want to show you my perspective.
