happiness
Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.
Life is messy
There's never a dull moment in my life and that's not always a good thing, sometimes it can be overwhelming and quite annoying to say the least. There has been some fantastic moments in my life but majority just seems to be one disaster after another and I can't seem to catch even the smallest of breaks. I know life is what you make of it but my God a tiny breather here and there wouldn't hurt.

Finding Happiness in Dark Places
You may think you know what this article is about. Its simple isn't it? The world currently finds itself in the midst of turmoil which feels like its draining the very life out of us, how can we turn this around so that it doesn't? What can we do? I have been asking myself this very question every day that I cannot see the smiles or smile back at my fellow humans as we pass each other on the street; every day that I cannot go to my church or yoga class or get a professional massage or share a movie with a theater full of excited happy people with similar interests.

Try to say you need more...
Struggle is not always bad. Actually, I’ll go as far to say I believe struggle indicates something better to come. I’d like to get into the habit of perceiving emotional confrontations in a situation the way my sister, at the ripe age of two and with her one tooth, perceived a turkey leg that was about as big as she was. My dad and I looked in the back seat at a red light, and saw that that turkey leg didn’t stand a chance. All she had in her hand was the bone and was shaking it like a rattle, grease all over her cheeks. I want to take on my struggles just like that. My faith, like that one lone tooth, and the problem won’t stand a chance.

This time of growth
The social media was erupting with news clips of different States claiming Marshall Law and Army tanks rolling down streets. I was managing a thrift store and felt my life was going nowhere. I was certainly living my best life of lack. Lack of friends, love, money, ambition, creativity, the list goes on and on.

The 30 Day Visualization Challenge
There has been a great deal of promotion and media inclusion about the Law of Attraction as of late, particularly after the arrival of the film, The Secret. There is by all accounts a great deal of feeling around this subject, both for and against. This is nothing unexpected, given that we have changed as a general public to have significantly less persistence and a diminished ability to focus. I will dive further into the entirety of this in a future article.

Falling leaves
As the tires crunch over the fallen leaves my eyes watch as more yellow orange and red leaves graceful dance along my cobblestone driveway. I knew as soon as I opened the door the cool fall air will hit my skin and I’ll be able to breath the fresh air and familiarity of being home. I click the button on my visor and the right side of the garage begin to open as I slowly pull into my sacred space. I grabbed my purse off the passenger seat and place my feet onto the cool concrete below me. As I step out of the car I look around the garage in the corner upon a platform stands my partners took bench and chest. The bright red is stark against the light grey walls and makes the red of the American flag seem even older than it is. The whole garage is neatly organized just like my husband likes it. Tools and bench in one area car cleaners and special pieces in cabinets and always freshly swept. The garage and shed outside are his domain. The shed matches our home which is light grey with blueberry blue doors and shutters. It subtle yet stands out surrounded by trees for miles. Our drive way has woods on both sides for 1/8 of a mile until it opens to our front yard and house.

A Ten Minute Trek
Working about ten minutes from home has always made it easy to save money on gas for my parents, so I generally leave a half an hour before i’m scheduled to start my shift. The walk there is spent calming my nerves for the long hours of customer service ahead and I’ll admit I find it difficult to reach a state of calm.

The Song
The tree she leaned against was called Green Mother. Seven other trees sat along the banks of the river Eliha. They were Red Mother, Rosy Mother, Blue Mother, Golden Mother, Silver Mother, Orange Mother and Brown Mother. Ruhee could have selected any of the trees for her ritual, but from the beginning, she was pulled towards the Green Mother.

Admit it, you feel like shit sometimes. It's not something you can control, really. However, you can control what you do when you're in a bad mood. I have a hard time with this, distracting myself when things get hard. Here are some things you can do when you're in a bad mood.

Gratitude
Having an attitude of gratitude is not always easy to attain. Some days, I wake up with a spring in my step and joy in my heart. Other days… not so much. It’s on those days that I hear the voice of my wise momma cutting through all my self-pitying, self-loathing, selfish noise. “It’s okay to feel that today sucks, but look at all you do have!” she states knowingly.
