The Myth of Success
Matt D'Avella, a film maker who produces the podcast "Ground Up," featured Amber Rae, an author, to discuss the myths centered around success. What motivates someone to create? What are the parameters that judge whether someone is successful or not? How do you personally gauge your level of success? As creatives, we sacrifice our souls for the approval of the masses. Society chooses whether to accept or reject your contribution.

A Feel Oh, So Fecal (I)
As an aspiring writer, painter, director, musician, game designer, and beautician, I have technically achieved each of these titles by accomplishing each occupations' outcome. I wrote a novel, directed some short films, produced a dozen or so albums, made a functional game once, and I bleached and dyed my own hair. Yet, my total lack of fiscal gain via any of these vocations relegates me to the designated "aspirant" rather the title alone. In my mind, at least. Which leads me to the conclusion: the issue is solely my mindset, and I am, otherwise, successfully an Artist.

Stay Gracious
In ode to the illustrious Queen Yoncé, and the messages/power spread through each one of her songs - I felt compelled to speak on one specifically. As we know Formation, is a powerhouse bop that addresses many issues that were/continue to occur amongst the African-American community.

THE PEPSODENT PRINCIPLE AND SMOKING!
32 years ago I used to be a very heavy smoker, nearly two packs per day. (I also had a huge amount of hair and a moustache back then). Soon after the birth of my daughter, we brought her home from the hospital following a very difficult birth which ended with an emergency caesarean. As I held her in my arms I was also just finishing a cigarette. My daughter gave a little cough and I realised if there was ever a time to give up smoking this was it!

Everyone wants to have a New Years resolution....but lately people have been saying I don’t have one! Because they are afraid that once they say my New Years resolution is to make more money or get fit in 3 months time they will stop trying.

Undesirable to Undeniable
Cody: At any point in your life or at any point in your career is there anytime you felt undesirable? I'm gonna be honest. Since I was born I was desired by everyone, my family, my friends, basically tearing me apart to all get a piece of me haha. Then came a day that it stopped. I fell off the mountain I was born. There wasn’t anyone to pick me up out of it. More than that instead of climbing out I wanted to simmer in it or let someone else rescue me. The friends stopped checking up on me, stopped hanging out with me. My fifty something turned to three, three which I still keep in contact with today. I...I don't know what really happened, I was born on a mountain top and everyone cheered me as a champion. But once I fell...they kept climbing without me, not even looking down to check on me.

Balance
Supposedly 66% of Americans do not believe they have a good work life balance and frankly businesses aren't helping, unlike France who encourages employees to disconnect digitally from work and gives 25 mandatory vacation days a year. Most working class americans are working long hours, weekends, and holidays, not too mention making minimum wage.
