Toby Thunderbutt - Family Hero
That's Toby in the photo. Well, that's what the humans call him. His dog friends named him "Thunderbutt" in honour of his ability to produce the most disgusting, stinky, vomit-inducing farts... at will. That's right—Toby Thunderbutt can fart at will: and this is his superpower!

Having a Familiar
I have always loved cats. I mean LOVE cats. I am almost obsessed with them. I am curious about them and what they are capable of doing. All animals, really I do love them all no matter how "dangerous" they seem to be to humans. But, cats? The feline has always pulled my heart strings more than dogs of birds or fish or horses. I have had two cats in my life thus far. Phee was my first, she was a Gemini Siamese Tabby mix. We got her in 2012 when she was about 6 weeks old. I loved her more than anything I had ever had in my life. She was my first pet, I had a dog for a little while but he was temperamental therefore I had to give him to a new family. Phee was with me until a few months ago when we had to put her down due to liver disease. I was heart broken. To lose any pet, it tears a part of your heart out to have to say goodbye.

Horseback Riding
My friend loves horses but has never ridden a horse before. The other day I was telling her about my horse accident and she told me now she's scared of horses because she didn't know that you could die riding a horse. What people that don't have any experience or knowledge of horses assume is because we can ride them they are tame and safe but horseback riding is just as dangerous as any other sport.

Feral Cats, Cat or Creature!
When I say stray cat, your mind probably wonders to the perhaps the cat you feed on the back deck or the cat you pass by on the street every day on your way to work, but when I say feral cat your mind probably thinks of a mangy looking creature that is the posterchild for being a crazed monster cat. But again this is your mind playing tricks on you. Even demons come in the cutest wrappers.

Being a Fur Mom
Dear Koi, Eight years ago, when we first met, I never thought that I would come to love you this much, or that you would change my life in the wonderful ways that you have. I was excited and nervous, and I think you felt the same. I wouldn't trade that day for anything.

You Should Never Get a Dog in College
"You should never get a dog in college." She's a floppy eared, 75 pounds, 2 years old, smelly dog. She was given up for behavioral issues, wasn’t well socialized and is moody as hell. Some days she wants to lay around and other days she wants to run for miles. She's strong willed, pouty, and don’t even get me started on the shedding… "Stay" is an impossible behavior to learn and she is so clingy, she follows me into the bathroom!

Will an Agreement to Save Wild Salmon Be Enough to Save Wild Orcas?
In some of my previous articles, I have discussed the plight of the Southern Resident orca community and how the loss of their major food source, the Chinook salmon, is linked to their potential extinction. In addition, I have also discussed the tragic fate of one of these animals in question. A juvenile orca by the name of J50, who was also known as Scarlet. However, with all efforts to save Scarlet from becoming another mass extinction casualty having to have since failed, all eyes have now been turned on preventing future deaths relating to starvation which now means, focusing on saving the salmon that the whales depend on for their survival.

B Is for Best Friend
// "We Belong Together" by Randy Newman // Bruno was my first best friend. Bruno is my Cocker Spaniel. I got him when I was four years old; he turned seventeen this past summer (June 2018). The year that he turned fourteen was the first year that it truly hit me; it hit me hard that my Bruno wasn't going to live a life as long and as full as mine.

Wagging, Sniffing, Barking, Cuddles!
People all over the world are falling more and more in love with dogs. One of the most popular breeds would end up being the Siberian Husky (shown in image above). What people don't understand is that you can't adopt or buy a pet just because it looks beautiful and you want to show it off in public or online for people to see. It's not just dogs either. People are purchasing cats, birds, lizards etc.
