dog
It's no coincidence that a dog is a man's best friend; they're more faithful than most other animals, and more faithful than many people.
Furry Friends
One Sunday morning, I was awoken by the buzzing of what seemed to be my phone. I answered, only to hear my sister excitedly beg me to wake up. She had asked I get ready and go with her to pick up a furry little gift whom she’d be surprising her husband and daughter with. Without hesitation, I agreed! Who wouldn't want to go see newborn pups?! Twenty minutes later she arrived at my house and I hopped in the car, and there we were driving thirty minutes out of the city to meet our newest family member. As we pulled into the lovely, quiet community her friend lived in, I kept reminding myself that I was here to help her bring ONE puppy home. Little did I know I was going to walk into a living room full of cute, furry little adventurers that were ready to steal my heart!

Discovering My Dog’s Personality
Growing up, I always thought that dogs acted all the same; dogs were categorized as playful, loyal, and loving. Most dogs are but I was unaware that some had attitude (asides from Chihuahuas) or will find a way to be heard. I grew up in a Mexican household where dogs were not allowed inside the house. The family dogs we had were kept outside and I was unable to get to know them. Keeping your dog outside prevents an owner to grow a deep connection with their dog. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the owner does not love their pet but it’s very hard to create a deep connection since you ’re unable to see their reaction to things, their way of communicating, or their thought process.

Do Dogs Have a Sexual Preference?
It’s a common scenario—you’re playing at the park with your dog and suddenly he's across the field, humping another male dog. While you try frantically to stop it, you're thinking "do I have a gay dog?" Homosexuality occurs naturally in humans, so do dogs have a sexual preference? The answer may be more complicated than you think. There are several examples of same-sex relationships throughout the animal kingdom (including some sex lives of animals that are surprisingly violent) that may be applicable to our canine companions. However, very little is understood about animal sexuality and what drives their sexual behavior. Here’s what we do know.

Why You Must Cut Your Dog's Nails
I am not talking about the aesthetics here, although that counts as well since long nails on dogs aren't a pretty sight. Health issues, particularly pain and problems with posture, are the main reason why you must cut your dog’s nails. It's part of caring or your dog at home.

Why Does My Dog.....?. Top Story - July 2018.
Dogs are so great. I often wonder what I did with my life before I had dogs, I definitely had more free time, a cleaner house, and a lot more money, but who needs time and money and cleanliness when you have a snoring, furry pillow?

Goodbye Old Friend
As I lugged my suitcase down the driveway, I couldn't wait to get in and tell my mum about all the mischief my friends and I had gotten into on our trip to Budapest. This was my first time away from home, completely unsupervised, and I had loved every second. At eighteen, I've had my fair share of misery these past few years, so for a few days I felt like I had finally reached a point where I was happy.

Our Last Ride
Our Last Ride Every day we deal with grief. On this day I dealt with a grief I had not experienced in my life before. Athena was her name and 12 years ago I adopted this 11-week-old Boxer. I didn't know back then that the next twelve years of my life with her would mean so much to me.

Blondie and Butterscotch
This is a story of four dogs and their current lives. First is Blondie, a Pitbull boxer mix. She was born on June 5th, 2012. She is currently 6. We adopted her from North Carolina and she arrived on the 24th of June in 2012. At that time she just turned one. The guy who brought her to us said she threw up and peed multiple times in her cage. There were many other dogs and some cats in the van, but they didn't know that they were about to go to there future homes. In the picture my mom found online, Blondie looked very strong and tough. When we let her in the house she met Butterscotch and they became best friends. After that, we brought her outside and she was so happy. If you see Blondie then she would give you kisses. Recently it was her birthday and she got a toy. The thing was that she didn't like it, but Butterscotch did. When we were at Party City, my dad thought this outfit for a baby was for a dog so he bought it. Instead of playing with a toy she played with that. She is fast and always hyper, but honestly she loves everyone. She likes to be rubbed and she is the sweetest dog of them all. If she growls at you she would still give you kisses. Pitbulls are not tough, it is the way you raise any dog.
