Let's go Stumbling
I had grace, I had balance, like a gazelle I could run across a four-lane highway in high heels .... but now .. I can't even make it across the barnyard without an accident. I have stumbled, slipped, slid and slammed myself into the ground. Judging by my bruises I have beat myself up real good. I show myself no mercy.

Zoos and Aquariums Gather To Help Florida Zoos and Aquariums After Hurricane Ian
On September 28th, 2022, Hurricane Ian strengthened into a high-end Category 4 hurricane after restrengthening over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. It progressed towards the western coast of Florida, making landfall on Cayo Costa Island. The storm would kill 137 people and cause over $50 billion in damages, with Fort Myers Beach and Naples taking the bigger beatings while Sanibel Island and Pine Island saw additional damages caused by storm surges and severe flooding.

Sarge My Beautiful Boy
I saw this challenge days ago and my instinct was to shut my laptop, let the sadness fester for weeks, and return to it, at a later date. Well, the later date is now and I have two hours to deadline. Procrastination, one of my greatest features. This one has lived up to the word "challenge" as this may be the most difficult and beautiful article I have ever had to write.

We don't deserve dogs. This is a universal fact. They are loyal, funny, quirky and are endlessly comforting. And yes, occasionally frustrating. Especially when they pee on the couch. Or chew on the expensive running shoes you finally bought yourself (that was a dark day).

Woman's Best Friend
I’ve never felt more loved by anyone than I am by my dogs. We got my current puppy, Rocky (as in Balboa, from my mom’s favorite movies growing up), shortly after we had to put down our last dog in February. He is often very stubborn. Sometimes, he refuses to listen to commands, or doesn’t come when he’s called. However, he is still very attached to us and gets very excited whenever my family and I return from work or school. He loves all of my family members and has a different way to greet all of us. For me, Rocky always runs circles around the room until I pick him up, and then he gives me lots of licks on my hands and cheeks. My brother always walks in to see the puppy rolled over on his back, wriggling around and begging for belly rubs. When my mom comes home from work, Rocky runs up and down the stairs and wags his tail, barking and whimpering excitedly to show her that he missed her very much.
