history
Past politicians, legislation and political movements have changed the course of history in ways both big and small. Welcome to our blast to the past.
History of Political Cartoons
Political cartoons have surged in popularity. With more people talking about politics, and with the nation so deeply divided, it becomes apparent that everyone wants validation for their political opinions. Nothing makes someone feel better than making fun of people we feel are morally backward.

What is a Joint Session of Congress?
As President Trump addresses his first Joint Session of Congress only months after stepping into the presidency, the American people are allowed an insiders look into a tradition which began in the 18th century. While Trump's Presidency has been rocked by many controversial, game changing moments, for many, this return to traditional normalcy almost comes as a relief.

The World Of Modern Problems
Where Are We Headed? Seems as though somebody opened up the fireplug at the end of the block and left her unattended. In a world supposedly controlled more and more by computers and algorithms, self driving cars and the like, it's the people that are out of control. For a generation or two past the first Nuclear Weapon being used, we sure are headed the wrong direction with some several thousand of them available for use by the countries that are supposed to the civilized ones. In fact, one wonders, with the rate of hostility out there today what are we even doing having these darn things accessible to any human being?

10 Pieces of Fake News and Their Sources from Before 1978
This current election has brought the idea of fake news from the dusty racks along supermarkets to the mainstream. For many growing up in the 80s and 90s, when one heard "fake news," they thought of the National Enquirer, with articles "confirming" not only Elvis' continued survival into the present, but also that he, in actuality, was an alien from Alpha Centauri. Obviously, a ridiculous story.

In these unparalleled weird times, strange bedfellows are playing footsie with each other! The Other Side of the Pond
It’s not the hair which worries me. It’s rather beautiful in a way - a candy floss creation of sweeping whirls and razor edges, re-created every day. It must take hours. It’s not the complexion either - that brilliant tangerine so loud it makes you want to reach for a pair of shades. No - I can cope with all that. And I’m not worried by the cupid’s bow mouth, or that curiously phallic thing he does with a pointed finger.

Infamous Bill Clinton Scandals
Bill Clinton is by all accounts something of a political Houdini; it seems the politician, philanthropist, and almost first First Gentleman has more or less managed to escape punishment over the decades, no matter what controversy befalls him. Sure, each scandal leaves him with some scarring—a tarnished reputation here, an investigation there—but no amount of salacious or questionable activity seems to be quite enough to ensure total destruction. Should you want to know how to spot one of these Clinton-Gates for yourself, the hallmarks of the many Bill Clinton scandals typically feature a questionable detail to start, which leads to an investigation, that ultimately concludes the detail is innocuous while also uncovering a tangential questionable detail in the process–And so the cycle continues...

Mysterious Political Decoy Cases
We have all seen that person on the street that strikes an eerie resemblance to someone we know. Wondrous appearance similarities have dazzled many minds throughout time, and the phenomenon has even coined its own phrase, doppelgänger; a German phrase that translates to “double goer.”

Donald Trump's Childhood
Even Donald Trump was once a child. The fact that he still behaves like one doesn’t mean he still is one. To understand the man, it is best to start at the beginning. A young, impressionable Trump was one of five children. Neither the baby nor the eldest, he did not immediately inherit a title other than “one of the other three middle children.” That is not to say he did not show some interesting prowess at a very young age. Never backing down from a rivalry was a part of his DNA. Unafraid of authority, he never saw teachers as a threat and was not afraid to make his points physically. A closer look at the following childhood attributes of the iconic mogul reveals a great deal about the egomaniacal adult.
