Political Double Standards
On October 1st, 2021, Gladys Berejiklein resigned as Premier of New South Wales, Australia's most populous state. The resignation was unexpected, to say the least, coming just days before New South Wales began to lift restrictions after three months in Lockdown after an outbreak of the Delta COVID-19 Variant. Hours later, the action was explained by an announcement that ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption) had launched an investigation into the Premier's actions three years ago, revealed by the ICAC investigation into former Senator Darryl McGuire. The public reason was that Gladys was sticking to her own principles, having previously been quoted that any Politician under investigation for corruption should step down.

The Radicalization of American Politics
Governing the nation hardly seems the priority of our elected officials anymore. Now, it seems the priority is either to win, or to look good losing. The good of the country is now perfectly aligned with the good of their party. But it extends past our politicians into our own lives. Despite having access to more information, more viewpoints than ever before, we build our own echo chambers and rarely leave. Funnily enough, I have never heard anyone suggest our political landscape is healthy. Every election, there is a smaller area of middle ground that is safe to debate. Our political beliefs are becoming more polarized on all issues, no matter their importance. At the same time, politics is becoming less accessible to those not involved while becoming more formative in the identity of those who are involved.

Ten things you probably won't think about Joe Biden
He is regularly the focal point of certain images that circulate around the web because of his undeniable manly relationship with Obama, or his ordinary Aviator shades that he has worn since he filled in as a lifeguard during the 1960s. The dad of four kids, nonetheless. Tracker, Ashley and the late Beau and Amy, is also known for the significant laws he advanced during his profession, including the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) of 1994, with respect to his underlying foundations of humble beginnings that carry him nearer to the average workers. Here are 10 things you might not have thought about the duly elected president:

An Open Letter To All World Leaders
Dear World Leaders, Our planet finds itself at yet another pivotal moment as heart-wrenching calamities seem to be unfurling across different continents. We have Afghanistan, whose takeover by the Taliban has caused millions to be displaced in their own country. We have Haiti, whose bad streak of natural disasters and political instability has devastated its population. We have Lebanon, whose economic crisis is prompting rampant poverty as people are unable to sustain themselves. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg and there are a plethora of different issues plaguing contemporary society by making our existence unnervingly complicated. Consequently, we are becoming startlingly desensitized to blatant pessimism, usually left with little to no hope of turning things around. In fact, just a simple act of turning on the news can trigger depressing thoughts regarding the current nature of global affairs.

What makes the difference?
What makes the difference? What makes one politician more electable than any other? If cold science and logic is applied to politics, or anything else involving humans; there is very little difference between those who are popular and the rest. Yet in politics this “very little difference” is what determines who, in a democracy, we are governed by.

The Most Important Election Of Our Lifetimes
“This is the most important election of our lifetimes.” Let’s not kid ourselves. I’ve heard that so many times in my lifetime that I’m starting to think I’m immortal. Or maybe politicians are trying out a heightened sense of impending doom to get me to go vote for them.

The limits to a Prime Minister's power
A British Prime Minister is not a President, although complaints have been made for many years that the office of Prime Minister is becoming more presidential. To be strictly accurate, the designation “Prime Minister” is a courtesy title, and he (on two occasions to date it has been “she”) should be referred to as “First Lord of the Treasury”, but convention has enshrined the title in Britain’s unwritten constitution for well over a hundred years.
