Brazil's New Leader: Why the World Should Be Concerned
New Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was officially sworn into office on New Year’s Day, confirming that he is determined to rid Brazil of corruption and promised to create a unified society. His racist, homophobic, and misogynistic attitudes made him a highly criticised figure through his campaign, but now he’s in the Palacio da Alvorada in Brasilia and 2019 will be the year for the former military leader to stamp his right-wing authority on the weakened South American state.

What Do Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Melania Trump Have in Common?
There can be no doubt that politics—for good and for bad—has come to the fore of American life in the Age of Trump. Whether online or in-person, with strangers or with family and friends, politics seems to be the topic du jour almost every day. Whether you are Republican or Democrat, Red or Blue, MAGA or a member of the resistance, many in the country feel like politics divides us like never before, unless you count that little Civil War-thingy.

Ryan Wasted $73 Million on Midterms
Now that all the dust has settled, and every race determined, it turns out the grand total of all the money the Congressional Leadership Fund wasted on attack ads was $73,177,712. That doesn’t include the just over $3 million they spent on Conor Lamb’s special election in Pennsylvania.

Nothing Is Black and White with the SNP
First there was the visit to Poland, and the day trip to Auschwitz. One of the most important historic sites in the world. A place where unspeakable horrors were carried out. Not exactly the place for cheap publicity stunts by a politician. But Scotland's First Minister decided to hitch herself to a school trip to the infamous Nazi death camp.

First Glimpse of Brexit Deal Could Be Nail in Theresa's Coffin
There was a significant breakthrough was made in the UK’s Brexit divorce deal on Wednesday with the news that a draft of the agreement has been completed. The 500 page document was presented to Theresa May’s cabinet in a lock-in session on Wednesday night. It could turn out to be a huge day for the country but the reaction from many in her own party suggests it could well be the beginning of the end for the Prime Minister.

Hillary 2020? I'd Rather Not
Earlier this week, it was reported by two of Hillary Clinton's former campaign advisors that a 2020 run would be likely. While there has been no official statement from Clinton, she has not denied the possibility of a presidential run in 2020. Today I would like to objectively discuss why this could be disastrous for the democratic party. To be clear, I am not saying that Hillary Clinton will definitely run in 2020, but that if she does, it could be the worst choice for a candidate the Democratic Party could make. In short, Hillary 2020 is a bad idea because first off, she lost to Donald Trump in 2016. It should have been an easy path to the presidency, but it absolutely was not. This is because her brand of politics just is not what the people are looking for anymore on either side of the aisle. Hillary Clinton represents what many people despise about American politics. For many, she is the lack of real change that has persisted for so many years. Finally, by running in 2020, she would be stepping on the toes of the Democratic party and holding it back for at least four years.

Chrysalis in Cabinet
Brexit has been described as a tumultuous time in British Politics. This is mainly because the mainstream press has decided against using a more accurate set of four-letter words to describe the situation, but nevertheless they have been talking about it. The front pages of all the mainstream papers have soaked themselves in as much non-information about Brexit as possible. While Brexit is something which should be talked about, it could be argued that the United Kingdom’s exile from Europe could be suffocating more important news stories. Examples of these are the police taking the government to court due to more budget cuts, the NHS being sold to as many money-hungry tax-avoiders as possible and Phillip Green being revealed to be exactly what everyone expected him to be. This list of stories being overlooked because of Brexit is far too long to be written out, so I am going to focus on one particular incident, which took place during Prime Minister’s Questions this Halloween.
