Rush Limbaugh is a Liberal
When you here the terms “Liberal” and “Conservative” you attach good and bad connotations to them. That’s partly because the root word of “liberal” is “liberty” so it gets associated with freedom and permissive policies. “Conservative” gets associated with our grandparents and seems confining. The majority of our current perspective on these two factions is based in a massive public relations campaign that has been going on since the sixties, though. The truth is that one’s opinions on gay marriage and social justice have nothing to do with their position on this spectrum. Liberalism is the belief that the Constitution can be interpreted liberally to grant the Federal Government more power than is specifically mentioned in the Constitution. Conservatives believe that the Constitution is a living document and is not subject to interpretation, and least of all by the government it was written to limit. Now, if the Constitution is our recipe for freedom and a “more perfect union,” then how is interpreting it liberally related to freedom?

It's Getting Very Hard To Be Sean Spicer
In the midst of the crisis that was rapidly unfolding around him, White House press secretary Sean Spicer should have been more than capable of telling reporters hounding him for information about President Trump's firing of FBI director James Comey that there was no comment at this time and quickly regroup. Spicer should have been able to tell reporters that the situation was fluid and more information would be given to them in a couple hours, or something. At the very least, Spicer, at 45 years of age, could have simply said "no comment," walked away into the White House, and met with his team to figure out what they could logically say to make Trump's surprise firing of Comey more palatable.

Poor Legislation and the Lack of Accountability
Before the Scottish Parliament election in 2016, while watching Holyrood, I had come to the conclusion that the SNP had to either lose their majority or their members needed to be less apathetic and hold them accountable. This was to insure that legislation passed by the Scottish Government was not bulldozed through the parliament again. It had been noted by the former presiding officer Tricia Marwick that the Scottish parliament was rather pitiful at holding the Scottish government accountable and this is the only way legislation is scrutinised by Scotland's devolved administration. Losing their majority would insure that Scottish government would be more accountable, or so I thought.

We Have Just Crossed Over Into The Twilight Zone
When Rod Sterling began each episode with "You unlock this door with a key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of mind. You are moving in a land of shadow and substance of things and ideas. You have just crossed over into the twilight zone," little did he realize that today we have the whole world in turmoil. More government reactions have only compounded the anxiety of millions, and societies are swept up in currents of unrest and tension. All of this has resulted in that millions are now feeling like they have literally crossed over into the "Twilight Zone."

A Nation Beguiled
For years now the United States has been running on empty. Empty promises of better times ahead. Instead our future is bleak. Our financial system is nothing more than a house of cards. Public education has turned out generations of substandard students. Our inner cities most of whom look like third world countries. What employment opportunities there are don't even come close to offering living wages. All of these and more are attributed to elected officials caring more about campaign contributions than the people they are supposed to serve. The many consequences of a democratic system that has become so inept and corrupt has now been further exasperated by the media in their complicity to pursue an agenda that is completely against the basic principles on which our nation was founded upon.

Lowest. Ratings. Ever. For Donald Trump, Who Thought Being President Would Have Been "Easier"
What perhaps has been most striking about the first 100 days of President Donald Trump's White House is that he actually thought the job would be easier than he thought. Yes, the 45th president has done a good many things that have led the public at large to scratch their head and wonder what, exactly, President Trump is thinking - certainly, his apparent hypersensitivity on Twitter is cause for concern - but his ongoing hostility to a host of individuals and groups speaks volumes already regarding the overall tone of his tenure.

NaziZombies and NaziZombies 2
Part 1: the takeover. It’s hard to say when it began to fall apart. Some say it began in America during the mid-seventies, when that well-known crook Richard M. Nixon -before he donned his leather jacket and fled off in his presidential chopper- decided to bring back the notion of the power of the dollar, and something called “the Laffer curve” over the gold standard.

Pie Falls from Sky
The truth is simple. Everything which was once flavour of the month, will eventually leave a bitter taste in the mouth. Popularity is a fickle creature which gives with one hand, while taking away with the other. With this in mind,we are beginning to see widening cracks in the once invisible SNP armoury. They are so obsessed with independence, they aren't focused on the real world anymore.

The American Agenda
In the mist of this President's trial-by-error administration, the Democratic Party continues to grasp at straws for an agenda that would rally a nation that most feel is moving in a very wrong direction. The only light of reason and hope in this problematic presidency has been the continued outspoken presence of Bernie Sanders. But, like during the primaries, the establishment of the DNC continues to dismiss and really ignore the message that Senator Sanders keeps putting out. He has been in the forefront of progressive ideas, ideals, and solutions for the past 35 years. Ideas and solutions that would greatly enhance the lives and livelihoods of millions of Americas all across the country.
