Politics does not dictate our collective cultural mindset as much as it simply reflects it; We've got to look in the mirror sometimes, and we've got one.

A Respected Journalist’s Descent into Insanity
The talking heads at Fox News’s ‘Outnumbered’ were discussing a Florida diner owner. Specifically, her refusal to serve Biden supporters, because of the President’s Afghanistan withdrawal and her belief he had stolen the election. The conversation was the usual boilerplate conservative outrage at a Democratic President, featuring a ‘real American’ putting her principles before profit — until it was Lara Logan’s turn.

Politics and the law of diminishing returns
Politics and the laws of diminishing returns Why more can result in less. The law of diminishing returns suggests that the more you have of anything, the less effect you get from adding an other portion of the same thing. For a crude example; if you give a poor person £1000 it will have a huge effect and should be of great (if temporary) benefit to them. If you give a £1000 to a multimillionaire it will have very little effect and be of only a tiny benefit to them. If you start with no money the first £10,000 means such a lot and make a huge difference to your life; the next £10,000 means a lot but not bring quite the same”relief.” By the time you have had 1000 lots of £10,000 the 1,001st allotment will make relatively little difference to your life.

Is The EU Having a Legitimacy Crisis?
Introduction This essay will argue that the EU is facing a crisis of legitimacy as a result of the Eurozone Crisis of 2008-9, a summary of the crisis will be outlined before going over how this crisis impacted the different types of legitimacy (output, throughput, & input legitimacy). Finally, I will put forward several recommendations that the EU could consider in order to resolve this crisis of legitimacy and slowly but surely rebuild its reputation with its member states and also regain the trust of the citizens of Europe. By ‘crisis of legitimacy’ I am referring to the recent erosion of trust that member states and citizens have in the EU, this is an outcome that deeply concerns members of the EU because it can be argued that this kind of crisis prevents members of the EU from enacting certain legislation. This is because if they were to try and pass a significant piece of legislation is it likely that some member states would resist it’s implementation and citizens may feel that their voices are not being heard and the EU is following its own agenda rather than the will of the citizens and the member governments.
