Wonderman
Okay so Wonderman was not a series I was excited for when it was announced. And there are many reasons for this, the biggest being that without his Wanda storyline Wonderman is a boring and irrelevant character. So when the premise of the show was announced I knew it was going to be better than I initially expected. Most of the feedback I've seen from the internet is positive. The only thing that raised a red flag for me is that people were glad all at once because they didn’t think it would work week to week. So if you are releasing a show and it “wouldnt work” in its intended format then you wrote a bad show. So that is one of the things I will be assessing.

Cosmic Princess Kaguya!
I have decided that this is going to be the year I branch out more. I am going to watch more anime, more foreign language films, and I am going to rewatch less. With that, I decided to start my movie reviewing this year with Netflix's newest anime addition.

Ranking the Superhero Projects of 2025
8. Marvel Zombies This was a hot mess of nothing. The plot was barely there and honestly the animation style took you out of the story approximately every 30 seconds because everyone looked the same and no one looked like their characters. The ending was clearly rushed and undeveloped. No one thought this story out. This was not a project that anyone was passionate about, there was no thought, no love, absolutely no indication that a single person cared about what was being put out. Dead last, there was really nothing enjoyable about this movie.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
With the disappointment that is House of the Dragon and the let down that was the ending of Game of Thrones, I am going into The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms very cautiously. Because as we have learned with the world of Westeros, just because a show starts off good or interesting does not mean that it is going to stay that way.

People We Meet on Vacation
Our first Netflix movie of the year is The People We Meet on Vacation. Obviously this is based on a book, one of those “summer reads” kind of books. So the expectations for this movie are very low. It’s gonna be some fluff and that’s okay as long as it doesn’t try to be more than what it is. I have no problem with mindless films as long as the movie itself knows it's mindless.

Sentimental Value
Sentimental Value has shown up well during awards season, and it has a stellar cast. It has been one of my most anticipated watches this year and now that the Oscars are breathing down my neck I have finally made time to actually see it. After meeting the main cast members I got even more excited to see it.

The Life of Chuck
Life of Chuck really assembled an interesting and wonderful team of creatives, to the point where I really don’t care what the movie is actually about. Mike Flanagan, Tom Hiddleston, Stephen King, Matthew Lillard, Karen Gillis, seriously this list is incredible. We even have Offerman doing a voiceover. So just based off of the list of people involved I knew I wanted to see this movie.

One Battle After Another
Okay full honesty here; I was not looking forward to watching this movie. I HATED Killers of the Flower Moon and that was the last time I saw Leo DiCaprio’s face. I think the writing better be damn good to warrant a nearly 3 hour film, and that is almost never the case. And almost every time a film gets touted “film of the year” it's actually nowhere near the best film that came out that year. So this film had an uphill battle with me before I ever pressed play. But I am nothing if not incredible at objective analysis. So I fought through it anyway.

Jay Kelly
Jay Kelly is one of the movies that slipped through my fingers last year but we are getting to it before Oscar nominations so it's a win I guess. I am a fan of Adam Sandler as a person but not as much as an actor and I never understood the fascination with George Clooney so I didn’t have a strong inclination toward this movie. That said, it was on the to do list so here we go.

Blue Moon
Okay so honestly I hadn’t even seen a trailer for this film before deciding to watch it. The synopsis was enough for my little theatre nerd heart. Also seeing the cast list was enough to hook me. Blue Moon is about Lorenz Hart dealing with Richard Rodgers Oklahoma! opening. As a certified theatre kid who watched Hugh Jackman in Oklahoma! so often my brother knows the words, I was truly looking forward to immersing myself into the lore of the relationship before Rodgers and Hammerstein took over musical theatre.
