A Musical History: 1980
Following on from my recent piece about growing up in the 80s, I wanted to share my favourite music from each year in a series of posts. Going back like this, for me anyway, shows the progress of bands and artists in terms of sounds and success. It also shows how music adopts techniques and sounds and they become "mainstream" and a something else takes its place as the radical, new sound.

'Little Dark Age' - MGMT
MGMT, a gem of a band in "psychedelic rock," had their golden age in the early 2000s, releasing multiple hits like "Kids," "Time to Pretend," and "Electric Feel." Their first albums were released fairly close together: 2007, 2010, and 2013... Then after that 2013 album (MGMT, self-titled), there was a hiatus without even any hint of releasing a single.

Lil Pump Arrested
Lil Pump has been arrested for firing a gun in his own home. The story is that three men broke in to the mumble rapper's San Fernando Valley house at around four PM on Wednesday evening, Feb 14th (2018). As the three men entered the 17-year-old's residence, they fired shots.

Who's Who on Lady B's List?
Hola hola my darlings! Lady B here again with a few other bands that I feel y’all would get a kick out of. This entry is to pay homage to groups that are local to the New York City area. As music lovers, it is always a pleasure getting to see and know bands that live within our own locations. When a person finds a new band that they like, it tends to be a bittersweet thing; at least from my experience. This is because while I may have found a band that has a sound and presence that I can completely get behind; most of the time, they are a band that is COMPLETELY “out of my jurisdiction.” Artists such as Karen Stever from Ontario, Canada, The Scars Heal In Time hailing from Texas, Infinity Spree from Ohio, POYNTE from Georgia; the list goes on. You all I bet have had this dilemma every now and then where a band you love is playing on a tour but it turns out they are playing NO WHERE NEAR YOU! It flat out sucks!

Justin Timberlake: 'Man of the Woods' Review
After the 20/20 Experience release that Justin Timberlake made, Man of the Woods had mixed reviews and was claimed "average at best." Justin wanted to tie back to his Tennessee roots with this new album and incorporate new and old styles of his earlier albums. Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, or more commonly just referred to as Sia, is most famous for her over-the-top exuberant artistic music videos, her emotional yet powerful fast paced ballads, and of course the brand name white and black wig. Her most common radio hits are “Chandelier,” “Cheap Thrills,” and the classic millennial soundtrack, accompanied by David Guetta, “Titanium.” However, Sia didn’t reach this high level of fame, prosperity, and brand level association overnight. Eminem's 'Slim Shady LP'
