The 'List: Billy Joel
Hello, one and all. My 2018 New Year's resolution is to make these 'lists more fun and challenging, and as promised; new genres explored, more decades explored as well as years in the rock era from every decade: 50s all the way to 10s. But, every now and again, with my good buddy Calvin (I'm Hall, he's Oates) Cherry, we will indeed profile many of our favorite singers, songwriters, artists and groups. So, with great fanfare and a tickle of the ivories, our first new year artist profile 'list highlights the career of one William Martin Joel, a.k.a. Billy Joel, a.k.a. The Piano Man.

MKS Fans Are Still Waiting
If you have knowledge of British Chart Pop from the early 2000's, the Sugababes should ring a bell. They used to be my favourite band when I was younger and they were considered one of the most successful girl groups of the 2000's. They're most famous for their hits like "Freak Like Me," "Stronger," "Hole In The Head," "Push The Button" and "About You Now." They were notorious for line-up changes before eventually fading into obscurity and quietly splitting up after the failure of Sweet 7. Though the fourth line up really tried to stay relevant with the perfume range, merchandise and that TV show with Katy Brand, it just simply wasn't to be. The more they tried, the more it ignited people's desire to see the original line-up again.

Bands That Should Be Nominated For the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Part I
Well, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame released their Class of 2018 inductees. While, the inductees, consisting of Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Cars, The Moody Blues, Nina Simone and Early Influence Sister Rosetta Tharpe, are all wonderful inductees, there are many bands and artists that were not even nominated this year and ones that were that were snubbed that all deserve induction into the hall. Here are some bands/artists that are eligible to be inducted yet weren't nominated this year and some were but ultimately weren't chosen to be nominated. Please note, bands/artists become eligible 25 years after the release of their debut album.

Bad Bentley January 2018 Mix
Ok, so last January I did a New Year's Eve mix while I was in Bali on tour with my other half. Beat had just launched and I swore I would do a mix every month. It was one of my precious New Year's resolutions, it lasted two and a half months.... I add the half because I DID do a March mix but it was for a completely different reason, so it didn't count. BAD Bentley.

Underground Female Rappers You Should Listen To
Even with female hip hop artists making millions right next to their male counterparts, it still seems like there is a shortage of dope female rappers. But there isn't. In fact, they're as common as great gangsta rap songs in the 90s.

Benthik Zone—'Via Cosmicam ad Europam ab Gelid Inferis' Album Review
Benthik Zone—Via Cosmicam ad Europam ab Gelid Inferis: Benthik Zone is a darkwave influenced three piece atmospheric black metal band from Porto, Portugal on their full-length debut with Via Cosmicam ad Europam ab Inferis Gelid. This band was founded in 2016 and last year dropped two EPs predating this LP in Cyclum Vitam D'Aqua Pollutio and Alienum a Daemonum Inferni Squali. They are currently unsigned, active, and I will link at the end of the article where you can find these crazy dudes playing, hopefully, somewhere in your part of the world.

Dave East — 'P2' Review
“Is dying worth everything you done lived for?” These words sound like proverbial street wisdom on “Prosper,” the second track on P2. They’re easily some of the most profound bars on here. Just like the first "Paranoia," fear and uncertainty are at the core of this mixtape.

Ten Indie/Alternative Bands to Hear If You Haven't
Indie pop/alternative rock is a rising genre in the music industry, and you couldn't avoid it if you tried. Many popular artists sway from their typical tone to incorporate these trending sounds, and we can't deny that it's working for them! To name one, while the hit band began on a small slope, Imagine Dragons took the world by storm when they released their first popular single, "It's Time," in 2012, causing listeners to fall in love with the soft pop/rock sound that they never knew they wanted to hear.
