The Offering
There appears, of late, to have been a bloom. A bright, beautiful blossoming of community challenges that taste like honey on my tongue and spark lightening flashes of curiosity in my mind. This is my submission for Matthew Fromm's High Fantasy Challenge.

The Story Of An Angel
Grandma once told me that angels are special spirits and the guardians of our world. Their true home is at a very distant destination surrounded with astonishing unfathomable wonders. Many books call that Heaven, but she didn’t give this place a name. She couldn’t quite describe what it looked like with words, but as I watched her stare blankly and smile I could feel the joy radiating from her face. It was the joyous smile I had whenever I finally pieced together images of what I could remember from my dreams, but with the intensity of a past memory you’d desperately hold so it doesn’t slip away again.

Connor trembled. Until this very moment, he’d never considered the difficulty of staying perfectly still. As he stared down the barrel of the gun it became abundantly apparent. His hands shook as he fought the urge to wipe away the sweat stinging his eyes.

The Moxies
Wind feathered Megan's hair as she pedaled her Red Rocket bicycle. Closing her eyes, she threw her hands out like Kate Winslet on the bow of the Titanic. Blinded, she missed the brick in the street. Physics ruled, and her body sailed over the handlebars. Skidding across the pavement, she slammed into a mailbox post. When her vision cleared, three children encircled her, staring. They were the new kids on the block.
