Love, When You Least Expect It
Love. Whether unspoken, or shouting it from the top of your lungs, holding hands, or shamelessly PDA-ing it in the middle of Walmart, having a partner to share this treasured emotion with is so fulfilling. But, from observing the constant relationship problems and forever alone posts, not all of it is smooth sailing out there.

The First Date With My First Boyfriend
I remember feeling like I couldn’t breathe as I pulled up to the house. White garage doors, big windows, and neutral tones decorated the exterior. His silver ‘95 Jeep Cherokee was parked in the driveway, recognizable to be his by the uniquely cracked windshield and glowing “N” magnet barely hanging off the back. It was only 5:30 but it was dark as midnight outside. I was bundled in many layers.

When Grief Moved In
It's finals week. I just transferred to a new school. This is my first semester there, and my exam is tomorrow. I need to be taking notes on the Crusades and Medieval Spain, but the black on my index cards are doodles of her name. Sketches of her face. Two years ago today, she had 12 days left on this earth and we didn't know, or maybe we did, but we didn't believe it. I didn't believe it. Our heroes are not supposed to die and our best friends aren't supposed to leave. She was both to me, and she died.

But Things Are Different Now
Things are different now. It’s like our hearts used to have the same beat, like when you’re on a run in the crisp morning air and a song comes on in your headphones that matches the pulsing of your blood absolutely perfectly. We were like that.

To the Girl Who Let Him Go
To the girl who let him go: thank you. Thank you for letting go of such an amazing man. Thank you for hurting him the way you did and helping him learn. You let him go for certain reasons and for that I will be forever grateful. You let go of someone who supports you in everything you do. You let go of someone who would never hurt you, even if his life depended on it. You let go of someone who would put his life on the line for you in a heartbeat. You let go of a man that every girl dreams of having. You helped him grow so he could love me the way he does. Thank you for giving me my lifelong partner. My other half. The love of my life.

Leave and Bloom
Domestic Violence If you look up domestic violence, you will find: Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior which involves violence, physical, sexual, or psychological abuse against an intimate partner. If you ask anyone that has been through it they will say it is hell. You never know when things are going to explode. You walk on egg shells continuously, and try to keep the kids quiet, food made, laundry done, lunch packed, and on an on. You are responsible for everything and nothing better go wrong or it's on you.

Crazy Mad Love
A day home alone finally allowed her time to reflect. She thought about everything. Everything near and far. Old memories, ones she’d let run through her mind a thousand times over and ones she hadn’t allowed herself to think about until now. It’d almost been a year, she thought to herself. A year since she’d met Tony. Tony Fisher. His real name already sounded like that of a fairytale character. She laughed. Her First “official” boyfriend. Not an almost relationship like all the ones before that had been. Their whole relationship only lasted for about a month but boy did that encounter influence her life.
