Book Review: A Dish to Die For by Lucy Burdette
I was given a free e-copy of this novel by NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Peace and quiet are hard to find in bustling Key West, but Hayley Snow, food critic for Key Zest magazine, is taking the afternoon off for a tranquil lunch with a friend outside of town. When she comes home, she discovers her husband Nathan’s dog, Ziggy, has disappeared. She follows his barking, to find him furiously digging at a shallow grave with a man’s body in it. Davis Jager, a local birdwatcher, identifies him as GG Garcia, a rabble-rousing Key West local and developer. Garcia was famous for over-development on the fragile Keys, womanizing, and refusing to follow city rules—so it’s no wonder he had a few enemies.

The Life We Built
I never remember meeting Lexie. It was one of those things when you're in high school and you just see people everyday, or you know someone who knows someone, and you know of each other. I never remember being introduced or having a formal moment when I met them. I just remember gawking in the hallways at what a free-spirit he was, even back then. I will never forget seeing the most graceful being doing twirls down B Hall in a tutu on a school day. Even back then, Lexie was a hero.

Return to the Night Owl
Authors note: Everything I write about the airplane crash is true and actually happened as I describe it. The crash occurred in Arizona about 25 years ago. We were traveling to Mexico with our good friends, when we suddenly iced up at night, the motor killed because of the ice and we went down like a lead balloon in the desert mountains of Arizona. There were two couples, and five of our kids, nine in all on the airplane. The story of the owl keeping me alive during the night is a work of fiction.

Hard hitting truths about dating as a millennial
Every once in a while I venture into the world of online dating. It is more to get out of my comfort zone than to find someone to date. These sporadic adventures have lasted a month at the most. After a couple of days of swiping left and right, I could feel the energy draining out of my body. I used to wonder if there is something fundamentally wrong with me that I am so "undateable"(Thank you, Frances Ha). Fortunately, I stumbled on Millennial Love by Olivia Peter this time and I learnt that it was the kind of companion I was looking for in this sad and lonely world, somebody who tells their stories in a self-deprecating way and makes us nod in agreement all the while.

4 Personal Development Books That Will Help You Change Your Life for the Better
When choosing a personal development book, don't expect it to give you a direct plan of action for you on how to be happy. Although it probably could exist. Motivational books, first of all, can provide some guidance, to become in a sense a wise mentor. It is not so important what is written in these books, but what emotions they provoke and what actions they provoke you to.
