Love: In Its Truest Form
Let us begin with my favorite Greek mythology: That of Baucis and Philemon. Oddly enough, I first encountered this myth within Mary Pope Osborne's retelling in the book Favorite Greek Myths. How often does a fifth grader encounter a story that continues to impact him into his mid-twenties? To simplify the story: Baucis and Philemon were a married couple whose love, compassion, honesty, devotion, and service allowed them to live forever as a "great oak and linden that grew from only one trunk."

Love Me in the Morning
I heard the knock on the door. I froze like I didn’t expect it. I had been waiting for hours, preparing. I stood up and walked slow enough that a second knock was necessary. I’m not sure why I’m moving so slowly or why my heart is beating so fast. Maybe it's because I know I still love him. I get to the door, take a deep breath and open.

Purple Hair and Hookups
I look at her. Her hair; dyed purple and pulled back into a high bun. Her collarbone marred with bites I had just left, her lips curled tight around the cigarette she needed to smoke after sex. She is sprawled out on my bed, amidst the mess and the chaos, the blanket pulled up past her waist, smirking at me.

Elephants Roam North
Something happened. One night, as I came out of my local supermarket, something amazing happened. “Hey, kiddo, got a light?” said a low voice said behind me. The voice lightly put his hand on my shoulder and turned me around to face him and his friends. Both sat on a bench, and a space between them where he had presumably been sat.

Is Standing by Someone You Love Worth It, Even If It's Wrong?
The conflict of being in love with someone that goes against your values is a mind game that you play with yourself. You end up having constant conversations with yourself, creating a pros and cons type of chart in your head but still coming to one conclusion, does being in love with someone outweigh their immoral compass? Or are you giving them a pass because you're making your love towards them a weakness?

Words They Couldn't Say
For years they struggled back and forth with their unspoken desire for each other, and for years it drained them both. To look at the person you want the most and be unable to tell them how you feel; to see in your mind's eye how good it could be and feel everything that is standing in the way; to be so afraid to shove the internal obstacles aside because you are top scared that to gain something wonderful you could lose everything instead.

Believe or Not
Whenever we think about love, we think about Shakespeare, we think about all the literature and poems in the world where stories of humankind are amazingly described. We don’t have tangible things or even enough words to describe such a feeling. You just know it. You feel it inside you that something extraordinary is happening to you. Most of the time there is our friend "Music" who helps us identify that feeling and make us realize how it affects us on a daily basis. I am addicted to love and of course my partner. Love is magical and makes us function in a different way. It is something I have always experienced.
