This Too Shall Pass
Life is tough right now. There's no question about that. We're living in unprecedented and uncertain times, and all we can do is plow on and do our best, wait it out, stay safe, stay at home, keep our distance, take care of our mental health as much as our physical health, reach out to each other and adapt to socialising via video, calls, texts, letters, to keep the loneliness at bay.

In the end it didn't have to happen
In the end it didn’t have to happen I am writing this to both acknowledge and inform others of my personal experience with having survived COVID-19 aka the Corona virus. For the first time in my life I describe myself as a “survivor” despite having experienced traumatic events. I have never thought of myself as a survivor, just someone who experienced a bad thing and continued to move forward. I do not want to scare anyone; each person’s experience of the virus is different. My experience while scary at times was not as bad as others, especially those who lost their lives. Although I will undoubtedly say something about the government’s handling of this pandemic I do not intend this as a political piece. I will state some opinions and views that I hold but that does not mean for the readers to dismiss my or others’ accounts of their direct or indirect experiences.

Beyond Stupid
The talented and beautiful dancers I photographed in their Gold Coast dance studio in the above photo, are to provide a contrast to the not so lovely adjectives and nouns I have used to identify with what seems to be a growing number of people. The models themselves are all lovely and intelligent people.

Uncertainty right now
Just over three weeks of the UK being on lock-down and I’ve lost count of the days. There is a lot of uncertainty right now, the world has changed, people are blaming the government, the government is blaming china, china is blaming the US army, Donald trump referred to it as the Chinese virus, but under that all it’s the general public that its really effected.

The Picture
A picture, as defined by Oxford is as follows: A description so vivid or graphic as to suggest a mental image or give an accurate idea of something. It is my belief that those of us who are blessed with sight live our lives through a series of snapshots. Experiences of lived moments taken one blink at a time. Lifes’ key moments, stowed away in the ethereal portfolio of memory. Some of these images are beautiful. Breathtaking. And some of them… well… let’s say they’re horribly in contrast of the aforementioned.

Working Together
The whole point of this virus is to force the different world players caught up in the Covid-19 mess to work together. Now that is not a totally radical proposition but it may yet work out. Why is it that Australians are mature enough to work together with their Chinese counterparts, but Americans are simply wailing about having to work together with Chinese scientists? We could find a vaccine in 12-18 months they say, but the thing is, if we cooperated, what a concept, we could find one in half that time. By April 15th, 2020 there were 2 million confirmed infections of Covid-19 so far. To tabulate the numbers from this date: the US has 582,000 cases, China only 83,000, Spain 172,000 where more people are getting tested, France, 137,000, the U.K. has 89,000 cases, Germany 130,000, France 137,000 following behind Germany, and then Italy has soared at 159,000 cases.

The 'New Normal?'
I was watching the latest news broadcast from Parliament Hill (I think that's what it's called) the other day. You know, the place where our illustrious leader, The Honourable Justin Trudeau does his daily Covid 19 broadcast for all to wallow and whine about. The thing about this broadcast that got me were the phrases, 'The New Normal', and that of...' This is going to last some more weeks?'

Women who inspire
Tavis Ferguson Pendleton OR April 14, 2020 Women who inspire: For three years, I have had the honor and privilege of knowing Tania Wildbill; not only as my yoga guru, and life coach, but also for the inspiring woman she is. When she moved to Oregon in the early 90’s, little did I know, Tania built a true empire. Her motto states: to explore and awaken to your life’s intention through the integration of breath and movement. She lives this, hence: working to attain her pilot license, moving to Hawaii earlier this year, attaining a position as an Executive Director for a childrens advocacy non-profit in addition to her many accolades.

What Have We Learned?
Starting week five of being quarantined in my house, I am starting to look at what this virus is ( and should be) teaching us about life and about relationships. As this pandemic has unfolded, it has shifted how we live, how we work and how we value life.
