sexual wellness
Sexual Wellness is an important health concern, concept, and lifestyle that fits into Longevity's health and wellness culture.
Porn is a Drug
Porn is a drug. I believe pornography destroys people mentally. However, over time, I think that porn addictions have the potential to wreck relationships, finances, motivation, and many other things in peoples lives. The sad thing about it is that American society is producing and consuming pornographic material like no tomorrow. According to a website named Fight the New Drug, the most of pornographic material is made by American, “Data reveals that some 60% of the world’s porn sites—about 428 MILLION individual pages, more than one per American—are hosted in the US.” This is sad and should not be something that the U.S. should be proud of in the least. In some ways I think fighting a porn addiction is harder than many other types of addictions because so much of pornographic material is completely free and highly accessible, whereas other addictive behaviors require money initially. The essence of porn degrades the human body and objectifies people. Sex is supposed to be sacred, shared between a husband and wife in private.

The Lupron Chronicles
After almost ten years of painful menstruation, constant UTI symptoms, and no answers, I started on my Endometriosis journey. On Thanksgiving 2016, I started experiencing new sharp and twisting pain. I went back to the surgeon I had chosen for exploratory surgery a few years before and told him now is the time. I have Stage 4 Endometriosis with Chocolate Cysts (Stage Three) causing Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis lesions. Along with these DIE lesions, I have spots of endometriosis all over my pelvic cavity ranging from Stage 1 severity to Stage 4 severity. These multitudes of lesions and stages had started to severely impact my mobility and daily life. The FDA approved drug Depo-Lupron or "Lupron," is my last choice and I am starting it soon.

A Year Later
August 14, 2016, is a date that unfortunately I'll never forget. I was hopeful going into my sophomore year of college. I had met all of my freshman year goals and I was ready to conquer my new ones. I arrived on campus at the end of July for RA training. It was such an exciting time because I was stepping into a role of big responsibility. I also made a friend in training who later became one of the best friends I could ask for.

Boobs or Die
Breast cancer is a disease that effects an estimated 1 in 8 women and 1 in 1000 men each year. It comes with a slew of side effects and takes an average of 40,000 lives a year. It is safe to say that it is a deadly, serious disease. However, many individuals, both those who deal with breast cancer and those who do not, feel that breast cancer ads and slogans are sexualized, and as such this takes away from the serious nature of the disease.
