The Importance of Morning and Evening Routines
The Importance of Morning and Evening Routines So…how are you fairing in Quarantine? I can imagine if you have been like me, well, you’re probably about tapped out from a not-so-clean home, your kids, and your work (if you’re working right now). Needless to say, this unusual time has brought about quite a bit of uncertainty in my life, as I’m sure it has for you, too. Our music school (Journey Music Academy) is 100% online, my kids are homeschooling (officially switched to homeschooling back in March — shout out to all of the homeschool parents out there — you rock!), and it seems like heading to the grocery store has leveled up on the “bucket list of daring things to do before I die.”

A step closer to light
Everything around us is continually teaching us something and bringing us closer to our inner light. Even someone as little as a puppy can teach us some essential lessons in life. I dedicated myself this year to learn from everyone and everything around me. It is beautiful to recognize how everything is connected in a beautiful symphony spun by the ever-mysterious Universe. We are continually getting guidance from the Universe and all we need to do is be still to get it.

Trapped
When does an animal stop struggling once it's been trapped? I was about ten years old, watching The Price is Right, just as Bob was calling up the lucky guesser onto the stage. SMACK!!! Oh no, it was that sound. The sound that first made my heart jump then it would send chills up my spine, every doggone time. My stepdad would set up mouse traps just about under every piece of large furniture or appliance in that old farmhouse of ours. It was just a quick smack and then silence. He would go around checking the traps in the evening for something he might have caught, that was that and I wouldn't dare look. I thought it was wrong to kill something that was not doing any harm.

How I Plan to Emotionally Survive Another Lockdown
As the number of infections continues to grow rapidly, another possible lockdown moves into the focus of political discussion. The first one made me reconnect with nature again. It was an urgently needed reconnection as I wasn’t pleased — to say the least — with the way my final year at university was about to start

The Walk of the Wretched Paved Correctly
For the longest I was reading, I would stop and think to myself. How amazing it would be to speak with some of the authors face to face to pick there brain and how they would perceive other facts in life. One day as I was hearing some quotes from great philosophers and i feel Socrates said it the best " employ your time by improving yourself by other mans writings, so that you shall gain easily what others have labored hard for". As i was reading " The Tao of Wu" by: RZA it hit me. I was talking to the authors because throughout the book i find myself stopping and asking myself questions about the book and what i just read, looking for references and putting 2 and 2 together. i then thought they are speaking to me through this book on a whole different type of communication level which only a few can tap into.

In Life
So! An introduction for this piece before I get into it. It may seem a bit weird and not of a typical piece of work that would belong here, but bear with me. I wrote the following post on Facebook about 4 years ago. I'm not entirely sure why I'm sharing this here other than the fact that I find it to be a good bit of my own writing. I saw it in my memories and it provoked many thoughts in me. Thoughts about gender norms and how men are supposed to be seen. They're supposed to be tough, less emotional, and if they want something done they have to do it themselves without any help. They have to be invulnerable. If they ask for help then they are instantly seen as weak and basically not a man at all. We've seen all the typical beliefs and tropes in movies, so I thought that perhaps this work might shed some light and open our eyes to what we do to ourselves as human beings. Of course, in reality, it won't change anything but I hope this is an enjoyable read for you. 👌 Once again, just keep in mind that the following IS just a Facebook post lol 😅

What Thomas Edison Can Teach You About Perseverance
This is what the greatest inventor of America had to say about perseverance: “ Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” and “ If we did all the things we are capable of we would literally astound ourselves.”
