Sir Keir Condemns Reform UK and The Green Party.

Starmer Savages Farage and Polanski.

British PM: Sir Keir Starmer.

Sir Keir Starmer made a speech in Munich. The objects of his ire were his political rivals, Reform UK and the Green Party. The fact that the Conservatives did not come under fire says one thing: he doesn't regard them as a threat anymore, or at least, not right now. Mr. Starmer has his eye on the Gorton and Denton seat that some polls say his Labour Party may lose. Zack Polanski of the Greens and Nigel Farage of Reform have been campaigning hard to make sure it is their candidates being returned as the MPs for this area and not Labour's.

Mr. Starmer attacked the policies of both Reform and the Greens in his speech at a Munich gathering on defence. He referenced the 1930's when the extremes of both left and right were rampant across Europe. Reform UK represent arguably the far-right, and on the other side, the Greens under Zack Polanksi have moved further left, apparently. Sir Keir said that although both parties represented two very different agendas, they had much in common. They are anti-NATO and soft on Putin. If either party were in power, he said, it would be a disaster. And the lights, he said, channelling Winston Churchill (or so it seemed), would go out all over Europe, once more.

Zack Polanski, speaking to Sky News' Trevor Phillips, accused the Prime Minister of "smear politics". Mr. Polanski said Sir Keir should be talking about "real issues" affecting ordinary people. For example, wages are stuck in 2008, while bills, rents, etc, were increasing. Mr. Polanski said if he were prime minister, he is not anti-NATO and would be committed to NATO's mantra: "If one member nation is attacked, all are attacked". So that every member nation would come to the aid of the nation attacked.

Zia Yusuf for Reform said Keir Starmer was "a joke of a prime minister". He went on to say that Reform UK was not soft on Putin and said that his leader, Nigel Farage, was the only political leader to have said that if a Russian aircraft entered British airspace, it would be shot down.

Sir Keir said both the Greens and Reform would cause division and capitulation. Sir Keir said that we must not let either party gain power. He said both parties were prepared to sacrifice Britain's relationship with NATO "On the altar of ideology". Even though both parties are accused of being soft on Putin, anti-NATO, and they would allegedly capitulate to Putin, Farage and Polanski vehemently deny this.

The Denton and Gorton by-election is usually a safe Labour seat. And despite the assumed or real threat of Reform and the Greens, Labour may still win. The Conservatives also have a candidate, but if polls and alleged popularity are to be believed, they might as well not have a candidate at all. Are there parties that could threaten Reform and the Greens in this up- coming by-election and, indeed, nationally?

For the Greens, Your Party, headed by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana, is the biggest threat. However, in this by-election, the party right now does not have a candidate. Saying they do not have the organisational wherewithal to put up a candidate. They are not endorsing the Greens, but by not putting up a candidate, it will not split the left vote; all left-leaning votes should go to the Greens. They say they are building a party to combat those on the right to far right.

Advance UK are a rival party to the Reform UK Party. Unlike Your Party, Advance UK do have a candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election, Nick Buckley MBE. Whether this candidate will split the right-wing vote remains to be seen.

By name-checking his opponents, Sir Keir is putting them on notice that he is aware of the threat they pose to Labour. Sir Keir said he would do all in- his power to stop either Reform or the Greens getting into power locally or nationally. Well, Sir Keir, we'll see how that plays out!!!
