Campaign Started To Cut Use Of Disposable Face Masks
It is feared that the number of dumped, contaminated, disposable face masks could read 19.5 billion. That's according to litter pickers across the UK who are reporting an increase in the number of dumped face masks being spotted during their patrols. The scale of the problem of people recklessly dumping their face masks after they've used them is massive as we use fifty two million single use plastic masks a day and sadly some of these are being dropped or simply fall out of people's pockets as they walk around from place to place.

Little Hulton Health Centre Opens To Help Serve Local Community
A brand new health centre which aims to provide the local community with state of the art primary health care services has opened in Little Hulton in Salford. The new practice which is part of a two storey development, encompasses GP services with a wide range of enhanced, primary care services all under one roof. It offers clinical services in a modern, fit for purpose premises. The premises officially opened on Monday 19th October and is already offering GP services as well as a wide range of primary healthcare services which people may need if they become unwell.

South Yorkshire Man Embarks On Quest For Justice
A South Yorkshire man has begun a long, audacious task of trying to clear his name after being wrongfully accused by police. Mr Michael Dillon from Barnsley was taken into custody after being smashed in the face and on the head with a baseball bat by an intruder at his home. The victim believes he was bundled down the stairs and outside where several of his neighbours witnessed what happened next.

Boris Johnson Places England Under Third Lockdown
As a result of the increasing number of Covid 19 cases in the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has decided to put England in to a third lock down and to raise the threat level of the virus to level 5. This will lead to the population being under more extreme restrictions to try and tackle the disease to overcome it and reduce the number of cases. In other words, the country is being placed under full lock down with tougher restrictions to avoid the number of cases of the virus rising out of control.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has finally agreed a deal with the European Union on the UK's terms for leaving. The agreement covers issues from trade to fishing and is said to be worth around £660 billion a year. Oxford/AstraZeneca Vaccine Reaches Final Stage Of Trials
The UK's medicines and healthcare regulatory body is currently in the final stages of assessing whether another Covid 19 vaccine made by Oxford University in conjunction with AstraZeneca is safe and effective to be used on humans to effectively protect them against the virus during the pandemic. This will be another form of protection that can be used to help lower the number of people who die from the disease. It is easier for doctors to prescribe and use as it doesn't have to be kept at extremely low temperatures like the Pfizer vaccine.

New Variant Of Covid 19 Discovered In UK
A second new variant of Coronavirus has been discovered in the United Kingdom following the arrival of two people from South Africa. This is highly concerning as the new variant is suspected of fueling the rise in the number of cases in South Africa. Surveillance by Public Health England said it had identified two people who had contracted the new form of the virus after being in contact with travellers in South Africa.

New Covid 19 Variant Discovered In UK
A new variant of the Covid 19 virus which seems to spread much faster than the original virus has been detected in the South East of England. Experts who have analysed the new variant have stated that it originated in the UK and was not imported from abroad. This is extremely worrying news for people who live in the UK so close to Christmas and has led to the creation of a new tier 4 threat level which has increased restrictions over the rest of the country.
