Firewood: It's Not Always Easy
Regardless of your feelings about COVID, the last year has been tumultuous for the world. Kathy and I have for the most part avoided COVID fatigue. We have always spent a lot of time in the woods, but we are doing that differently now. Pre-COVID, we would walk, walk, walk. Recently, my doctor asked me how much exercise I get in a typical week, and I told him I work in the yard, go fishing, and walk about thirty to thirty-five miles a week in mountainous terrain. Throughout my life, all of the majorly bad things that have happened have happened in the month of December. I know I should not let a few unfortunate events steal an entire month from me every year, but it's difficult to think in a productive way when you are in the abyss.

A Sustainable change
As the new year begins I find myself desiring to create a more sustainable lifestyle for myself and my children. Not a New Year's Resolution, or even a goal, but something, somewhere inside of me feels an imperative to live a more sustainable life.
